Ralph and Jess met in February 2024, thanks to a dating app and a little bit of good timing. Not long after, Ralph reached out and mentioned he was coaching a basketball game in Jess’s town. It felt like an easy excuse to meet up, so they made a plan to grab drinks after.
Jess knew she liked him almost immediately. She walked into the bar and saw Ralph already there with two espresso martinis waiting—her favorite drink. Safe to say, he understood the assignment. What started as a quick drink turned into hours of conversation, a lot of laughs, and eventually closing the bar down.
From there, things moved naturally. Jess got to know Jackson, Ralph’s dog, who had already claimed his spot as part of the package deal. Not long after, they added Espresso Bean, their cat—named after the drink that started it all.
In July 2025, Ralph planned a trip to Antigua that Jess thought was just a beautiful getaway. What she didn’t know was that he had teamed up with the hotel ahead of time, asking them to invite the two of them to take photos for their website and marketing. It seemed like a fun, unexpected moment—until, in the middle of the shoot with the ocean behind them, Ralph got down on one knee and asked Jess to marry him.
Now, they’re excited to build a life together—one that feels just like the beginning: thoughtful, fun, and surrounded by the people they love most.
